TRANSPORT

Introduction

The transport function is a major cost within the Logistic function. It therefore needs to be carefully controlled and managed. Efficient transport mechanisms also assist companies in increasing service levels and customer service.

Target group

This course is aimed at providing those working in the supply chain, particularly those in transport and distribution with a formal understanding of their roles and responsibilities.

Course objectives

To highlight the importance of the transport function within an organisation, and to develop pro-active personnel who understand the practicalities of working in an environment that requires continual improvement, control and measurement.

Entry requirements

Basic literacy in English and numeracy is required. There are some calculations so a working understanding of mathematical equations is recommended.
